The fall semester comes to an end. We have had some wonderful students this semester. God bless them all as they enjoy a break from studies. May each of you have a Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.

Our spring semester is going to be great! We have around 10 going to the Gulf Coast Get-A-Way January 12-16. We have a Central Illinois Youth Rally planned for March 3&4. Randy is teaching the College Class January - May. The topic is Life Acts 29.

On a personal note...Billie and I are excited about travels to Orlando, Florida for a vacation with family and a trip to San Diego, California to meet our new granddaughter Ansley. She is due to make her entrance into this world on January 9.

October 2011

October 3rd...where did September go? Illini for Christ has a college class on Sundays at 9am, a Bible study on Thursdays at 7:30pm. There is also a meal and study on Wednesdays beginning at 6pm. There are some good small groups that meet on Sundays at 5pm. If you want to grow as a disciple of Jesus we offer one on one studies. We want you to know Jesus Christ. There are opportunities for college students to plug in and be part of the body of Christ that assembles at 2601 S. Philo Road. Would you like to know more about these opportunities? Let's make ourselves available to God and He will do a great work through us.

Fall 2011

We are about to start a new semester here in Urbana, Illinois. We had two new students from China visit our Wednesday evening meal and study on August 17. They were delightful to visit with and we look forward to getting to know them. We are waiting for students to return and be part of God's family here at Philo Road. This fall we will be studying and encouraging the teaching from Joshua 24 that "We are the Lord's Servants". We desire to see students plug into the ministry at Philo Road. There will be many opportunties for teaching, serving, participating. Join us in praying for everyone to find a place to serve.

Our first college age gathering was a great evening. I enjoyed the singing the best. Of course Marcia had a great meal. Todd's devotional was a good challenge for us to pray the Scripture. The fellowship and game playing was all fun. We don't have a date picked out for our next gathering. Does anyone want to volunteer their place for a Friday or Saturday evening gathering?

All our students need to be making an extra effort to be at the church building on Sundays at 9am and Wednesday at 6pm. Our leaders at the Philo Road Church of Christ are challenging all of us to grow in our faith. Our faith will grow when we are taking an active part in the life of the Body of Christ. Pleae join us!

Illini For Christ we have a few changes around here. The new deacon over Philo Road's campus ministry is Todd Horton. Todd and Marcia are hosting our first get to gether on February 5 at their home. We will gather for dinner at 6pm and have some fun after that.

New Semester

Our Spring semester is off and running. Tonight we had a good turn out for our dinner at 6pm. After dinner a few students went to the Millers for some games and fun. There is a new class beginning on Sunday for our college students. The class is on Spiritual Warfare. Todd Horton is teaching this class. On Wednesday nights we will be studying Transformation. This class will begin in March. During the month of February on Wednesday nights our ministry leaders will be sharing about their ministries. The goal is to have all members involved in a ministry. The elders are teaching our Sunday morning classes on Sundays in February. You don't want to miss these studies. Join us on Sundays during the month of February.

Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! The semester has ended well for most of our students. We now wish you a nice long break from studies and the college life. We will look for your return to C/U on January 24. We will be giving you opportunity to get involved at the Philo Road Church of Christ during the spring semester.
